The final Gap Junction webinar leading up to the international congress was chaired by Dr.María Mayán on the 26th of January. Professor David M. Miller from the University of Vanderbilt (USA) presented his results on the role of cAMP in the neuron-specificity and subcellular placement of electrical synapses. The second speaker, Marina Rodríguez-Candela from INIBIC (Spain), provided encouraging results about the role of connexins in the resensitization of BRCA1 mutated triple-negative breast cancer to the PARP inhibitor olaparib. Professor Pablo J. Sáez from Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf University (Germany) show us their latest evidence of how pannexin channels regulate immune cell migration.
More than 90 attendees connected to the session via Zoom with some more connecting via Youtube. Many thanks to the speakers for their presentations and to the attendees for making the IGJC webinars a success!
During the webinar Maria Mayán presented further details of the next IGJC to be held in Spain in July 2022. We hope to see you face to face this summer in A Coruña!
